David Miller is inarguably a Texan, through and through! Born and raised in Houston, David led the exciting life of an amateur bull-rider-turned-deputy-sheriff, and is now a full-time dance instructor. While on the rodeo circuit, David’s visits to local nightclubs sparked a desire to join the dance crowd. He began taking dance lessons in 1994 and soon began teaching part-time and competing in the Country Western circuit. He came to Go Dance in 2014 with nearly two decades of teaching experience and numerous national and world titles under his belt. David presently competes in the Country Western and West Coast Swing national circuits professionally and with students. He enjoys working with students toward their Showcase performance goals as well as teaching students who want to improve their social dancing. His sense of humor (and rodeo-clowning experience!) shine through in David’s high-energy teaching style. As an instructor, David approaches lessons with a keen sense of technique and enforces the importance of posture and the dancer’s core as the center of movement. A student’s smile is as important to him as their posture! He truly finds his joy in dancing, and is always grateful to see the happiness dance brings out in his students.
